In MathType's MathType menu, choose Preferences > Cut and Copy Preferences, then select PDF and click OK. I say it's not a perfect solution, because when you paste into the document, the equations won't be vertically aligned with the text, but this is the only way for them to appear in iOS. Also, they're not editable in iOS (obviously), because there's no iOS version of MathType. With MathType open, expand the Help menu (by clicking it), and select About MathType.
